Invisible

How do you tell a child that their Grandma has gone?
You wont see her again, hold her hand or hear her song.

Laughter wont be shared and milestones will be missed,
By the woman who loved you so much, who you rushed to kiss.

Grandma isn't here to spoil you, she has taken her lollies too.
She wont be here to brush your hair or be interested in you.

But where is she? you ask and I don't know what to say.
I don't have an answer, please just turn back to your play.

Do I say she is in heaven looking down on you?
Watching out and caring about everything you do?

Do I say her spirit lives on around us or up in the stars?
How do I explain that death is final, only ashes left in jars.

A child's pain is their mother's and so I bear it twice.
Not only loosing my mum, but your Grandma who was so nice.

My only comfort is that she made me and then I made you.
A legacy that lives breathing, life going forward and through.

So sad, so true. I always find the truth to be the best with children. They are amazing how they process it. It build a life long bond of trust! Sorry for your loss..

Another remembrance and another tear. "O Death where is your sting?" It is with us who are left behind.

Little Miss has a part of her grandma within her. She lives on in her as well as in you too. Because of that she has not really gone but is a beautiful living memorial for all to know and to see and to love.

Ah this sounds so heart felt... Ending with a lovely touch!

I recently lost my uncle who was like a grand father to me... I can relate to this one

Glad I dropped by here :)

There is a sad reverse element to grief as well. We have one particular grandson who adores us beyond belief. We are already grieving for his grief when we are gone.

As always your words are inspiring CF.
Take care and always keep talking to your mother anytime of the day, she will be listening.
Much love
